Abstract:
Twenty-one years as Editor of SAAD Digest. 

Sitting down to write this Editorial, it was suggested that I look back at the Editorials that I have written since the new format Digest was launched in 2006. The concluding paragraph of the first Editorial was: ‘The 21st century will hopefully continue to be an interesting time for those of us practising conscious sedation in dentistry. Our aim is to inform and update on issues of interest to the SAAD membership, and to the wider community of those providing high-quality pain and anxiety control in dentistry.’1
