- To understand the medical and social challenges of the older and obese population, and adapting sedation techniques accordingly
- To understand the rationale, techniques, risk assessment and challenges associated with domiciliary sedation
- To explore the pharmacology, indications and contra-indications of new drugs (penthrox and remimazolam)
- To be aware of latest CQC requirements required for sedation practice
- To familiarise with ‘The Enjoyable Dentistry Technique’ as an adjunct to inhalation sedation
- To appreciate the conscious sedation training processes and its challenges

CPD hours: Five hours sedation CPD. The symposium fulfils the GDC's development outcomes for B, C and D.
RCoA CPD approval: The event is accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 5 CPD credits.

Poster presentations: A first prize of £250 and a second prize of £100 will be awarded for the best poster. Abstracts, of no more than 200 words, and suitable for possible inclusion in the SAAD Digest should be submitted by 10th September 2021 to email@example.com. Poster boards will be allocated by 14th September. You will be responsible for the printing and displaying of your poster, maximum size A0.
