The sessions will be chaired by Dr Carole Boyle, SAAD Course Director and previous SAAD President. Carole is the clinical lead for sedation and special care dentistry at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) the largest teaching department in the UK

David Craig MBE needs no introduction to the sedation world. A previous SAAD President and Course Director he is known for his wide knowledge of sedation and his role in dental politics ensuring that the role of sedation is not overlooked. In recent years as Chair of the Conscious Sedation Committee at Guy’s and St Thomas’ (GSTT) he has been teaching our medical colleagues on safe sedation. In the webinar he will share his unique insight into the use of sedation in the medical sphere.

Learning outcomes: At the end of this session you will...
1. Have reviewed the similarities and differences between adult PCS techniques in medicine and dentistry.
2. Understand the implications of different methods of pain control.
3. Considered National recommendations on the use of capnography during PCS.
4. Appreciate the advantages of liaison with medical specialties, especially anaesthesia.
