Programme:
Aim, Learning outcomes & CPD hours
Aim: To support the use of appropriate pain and anxiety control focused on patient need.
Learning outcomes:
- To appreciate the needs of 12-16 year olds for intravenous conscious sedation
- To explore the indications for and use of multi drug intravenous sedation
- To understand routes of sedation and their application
- To promote the use of suggestion with sedation
- To appreciate the use of sedation in other non-hospital settings
- To explore acupuncture and its role in dental care
- To promote a new initiative in assuring and validating quality in dental sedation
CPD:
- Five hours, fulfilling GDC learning outcomes A, B, C & D.
- This event is accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 5 CPD credits
